Why weeks, not months
AI-assisted evidence review, one client portal
Every ISO 27001 USA engagement runs on the Praxis-Q compliance platform. You upload evidence per control, AI scores it against the requirement, and your auditor reviews in the same workflow — from scoping through to the issued, publicly verifiable certificate.
AI evidence scoring
Every upload is scored against the control before an auditor sees it — gaps surface in minutes, not at the review meeting.
One client portal
Scoping, evidence, auditor queries and status live in one place. No email chains, no spreadsheet trackers.
Auditor sign-off
Praxis-Q auditors review inside the same workflow, so review rounds shrink and the certificate issues sooner.
ISO 27001:2022 and ANAB Accreditation
ANAB is the US accreditation body recognised under the International Accreditation Forum's Multilateral Recognition Arrangement, meaning a certificate issued by an ANAB-accredited certification body is recognised as equivalent to one issued under UKAS in the UK, JAS-ANZ in Australia, or any other IAF MLA member body - this is precisely the mechanism that makes ISO 27001 a genuinely international standard rather than a country-specific one. Praxis-Q's role is the implementation and audit-readiness work; we hand off to an ANAB-accredited (or other IAF MLA-recognised) certification body for the formal Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessment, since a certificate issued by an unaccredited body is frequently challenged during enterprise vendor due diligence.
Why US Enterprises Choose ISO 27001 Alongside or Instead of SOC 2
SOC 2 and ISO 27001 serve overlapping but distinct audiences: SOC 2 is a US-centric AICPA attestation that most domestic SaaS buyers specifically ask for, while ISO 27001 is the internationally recognised management-system certification that global enterprise customers, especially those outside the US, often require or prefer. Many US companies selling internationally end up pursuing both, since neither substitutes fully for the other in every buyer's eyes - Praxis-Q maps which of a client's actual customer base and target markets makes ISO 27001, SOC 2, or both the right investment, rather than defaulting to whichever is more commonly requested domestically.
Sharing Evidence With a Parallel SOC 2 or CMMC Engagement
ISO 27001's Annex A controls overlap substantially with SOC 2's Trust Services Criteria and with NIST SP 800-171's requirements underlying CMMC - access control, risk assessment methodology, incident response, and vendor management all show up in some form across all three. Praxis-Q runs a combined risk assessment and control implementation for clients pursuing more than one of these simultaneously, mapping the same evidence to each framework's specific documentation requirements rather than running three disconnected projects that each ask for substantially the same underlying proof.
Statement of Applicability and the 2022 Annex A Restructure
ISO 27001:2022 restructured Annex A's controls into four themes - organisational, people, technical and physical - down from the 2013 version's fourteen domains, and consolidated the total control count to 93. Every organisation seeking certification must produce a Statement of Applicability documenting which of these 93 controls apply, which don't, and the justification for each exclusion - this document is one of the most heavily scrutinised artefacts during Stage 1 assessment, and Praxis-Q builds it based on the client's actual risk assessment rather than a generic template that includes everything by default.
Engagement Timeline
Gap assessment against ISO 27001:2022 typically runs one to two weeks. Full ISMS build-out, Annex A control implementation and internal audit adds several more weeks depending on organisational maturity, followed by Stage 1 and Stage 2 assessment scheduled with the chosen ANAB-accredited certification body. Praxis-Q supports the ongoing annual surveillance audit cycle across the certificate's three-year validity so the ISMS stays audit-ready rather than lapsing between visits.
